Day 16 of 30 days of Sewing

I finished a Mickey Mouse Fleece Throw. Then started on a little girl's robe, I cut out a while ago, not sure what size it is. I could only find the directions not the pattern. I worked on it for about an hour. Then realized I sewed the front pieces on wrong. I decided I'm going to just trash the project. It will be too time consuming to fix it.

Not sure what to work on today, I'm waiting of the 4th of July Sale at JoAnn's so I can get fabrick to finish my I-Spy Halloween quilt.

Day 14 & 15 of 30 days of Sewing

I took some time off from my sewing. I did the Western Washington Shop Hop. I'll post more about that later...

Sunday was my day 14...
I finished the center section of my I-Spy Halloween Quilt. I need to get fabric for the inner and outer borders. Not sure it I'm going to use black or purple for the inner border. I'll proably use a yellow or orange for the outer.

Monday was Day 15 ..
I decided to work on a fleece throw I pinned together a year or so ago. It will look nice on our new recliners.

Day 13 of 30 days of Sewing

I got some extra time to work on my Halloween I-Spy quilt tonight. My SIL is taking my DD to San Fran for 4 days! I'm kinda exicted about this and also a little sad. I'm going to miss my little girl :~(... I'm hoping to have the top of this quilt done by the time she gets back on Monday or Tuesday.

So today I got rows 2, 3, 4, 5 sewn. Then I was able to sew rows 1, 2, 3 together! My blocks are not lining up perfectly but she will never know! I have rows 4 & 5 pinned together ready to be sewn tomorrow.

I'm planning on going to a few quilt shops tomorrow. I'll be on the look out for some I-Spy prints for the swap I got into.

Day 11 & 12 of 30 days of Sewing

Day 11
I spent finishing up the 9 half blocks and squaring up some more blocks. I think squaring the blocks is taking just as long as to sew them.
Day 12
I finally finished squaring up the rest of the blocks. And I got to sew the first row together!!!

Day 6,7,8,9 &10 of 30 days of Sewing

I took 4 days off from sewing last week. The end of the year things at both my kids schools wiped me out!
So I got back on track on Thursday!
I've been working on a Halloween I-Spy quilt I started almost 2 years ago.
I've beem plugging away at it for 5 days.
Still have 48 blocks to square up and to make 9 half blocks.
Then it's time to sew it all together!
My DD is so excited to see this getting done!

Day 5 of 30 days of Sewing

I was so excited to sew today that if was the first thing I did this morning!!

I made my DD her Chocolate Candy Pillow Case! I learn some new thing while making this. First was making a pillowcase burrito style and French Seams. I really didn't care for the French Seam, next time I'll just serge my seams.

Day 4 of 30 Days of Sewing

I finished my last 2 Thangle Square tonight! Still no luck on finding the direction for finishing it. So I’m moving on to my DD pillow case tomorrow. Here are some pictures!

Day 3 of 30 days of Sewing!

I found my iron so today I ironed my Thangle pieces and pinned them together for the next step. And the rest of my time I spent cleaning up. I can finally cut stuff out, iron and sewing with ease now.

Day 2 of my 30 min of sewing for 30 days

I feel like I didn't get much accomplished on day 2. My DD and I went to the quilt shop today! DD picked out a cute pillowcase kit and I got some fabric to make her a quilt! So tonight I went to sew her pillowcase and didn't have any room to lay anything out on my desk or cutting table... So I decided to work on my Thangle square. I got the last set sewn and cut out. Went to iron and can't find my iron!!! I used it a couple of months ago at my DD school, I really hoping it's in the PTA room! I hope I can get more accomplished tomorrow!

Oh MY!!!!!!!

Can't believe I haven't posted anything to this blog is Oct. 2008!!!
Well guess my life got a little to busy to blog...

Starting today that's going to change...
I found a group on Raverly called 30 days of Sewing.
Pretty Little Knit Stitches want to improve on her seamstress skills, so she is going to sew for 30 mins for 30 days!
My goal is to work on quilts and other sewing stuff I've been putting off. I haven't sewn anything since the mad rush of Christmas! Until tonight, I fixed Hannah's christmas pj's that had a hole in the collar and a Hello Kitty shirt that had a hole in the hoodie. I had them fixed in no time! Spent the rest of the time looking for pieces of quilts blocks and direction that I need to finish! I hope I didn't lose the direction, since the quilt shop I got it at is out of business.

I might need to spent 30 mins a day just cleaning and organizing my craft/sewing room!

Stay tuned to see what I work on tomorrow!
